Basketball Recap: Alhambra Comes Up Short

If Alhambra was riding high fresh off their 64-44 takedown of Metro Tech last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Alhambra Lions lost to the Browne Bruins on the road by a 67-51 margin on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-21 on December 4th.

Browne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adam Chaffin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That's the most boards Chaffin has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Dee Shaw, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Browne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Alhambra Lions face off against the Central Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Browne, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kofa at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
