Volleyball Game Preview: Ashland Clockers vs. Hopkinton Hillers

Ashland hasn't had much luck against Hopkinton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Clockers will head out to square off against the Hillers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Ashland came up short against Holliston and fell 3-1. While the Clockers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-13 in the first set.

Ashland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Hopkinton didn't have quite enough to beat Westwood on Monday and fell 3-2. While the Hillers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolverines 25-16 in the first set.

Hopkinton actually scored more points across those five sets (107-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 15-13.

Hopkinton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Ashland couldn't quite get it done against Hopkinton in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Clockers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
