Basketball Recap: Village Tech Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

On Tuesday, the Village Tech Viper Squid earned a 32-25 victory over Young Men's Leadership Academy. The 32-point effort marked the Viper Squid's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bryson Gaines was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave him a new career-high. Isaiah Thomas was another key player, putting up nine points.

Village Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Young Men's Leadership Academy, they moved to 12-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Village Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-58 defeat against Trinity Leadership on the 17th. Young Men's Leadership Academy has also already played their next contest (against Life Oak Cliff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
