Basketball Recap: Mitchell Mustangs vs. Strawberry Crest Chargers

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 83-74 to the Strawberry Crest Chargers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (67), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Mitchell still got an impressive performance from Carson Peterson, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Jacob, who posted 12 points.

Hunter Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Strawberry Crest, dropping a double-double with 29 points and 21 rebounds. Hall has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayson Lewis, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 21 points and five assists.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Strawberry Crest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Mitchell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-52 victory against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on the 30th.
