Basketball Recap: O'Bannon Comes Up Short

O'Bannon was the 51-49 winner over Leflore County when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The O'Bannon Greenwaves took a 55-38 bruising from the Leflore County Tigers on Thursday.

Leflore County was led to victory by Jeremy Gilbert and Emoni Journey. Gilbert went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points and three steals, while Journey went 5-for-7 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and three steals. Gilbert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samford Franklin, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

O'Bannon's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Leflore County, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

O'Bannon has already played their next matchup, a 64-55 win against Charleston on the 7th. As for Leflore County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-30 victory against North Side on the 7th.
