Baseball Game Preview: Indio Rajahs vs. Indian Springs COYOTES

The Indio Rajahs will face off against the Indian Springs COYOTES at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indio will be strutting in after a win while Indian Springs will be coming in after a defeat.

Indio's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past University Prep's usually-dominant pitching crew. Indio was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over University Prep.

Zackary Muniz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

In other batting news, Julian Mandujano and Jose Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Mandujano scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Rodriguez scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Indio is 3-1 when Mandujano posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Hernandez, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Indio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Indian Springs fell victim to Bloomington and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 6-0.

Indian Springs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Cabrera, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases marked the first that Cabrera snagged this season.

Indian Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Indio, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
