Legacy and Spring Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Longhorns will face off against the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Legacy heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Saturday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Doral Academy Red Rock. The Longhorns' loss signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley got the win against Rancho on Saturday by a conclusive 15-2. Considering the Grizzlies have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Aubree Holcombe, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Aubreyana Sanchez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Spring Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are 16-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Spring Valley and bumps their season record up to 19-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Legacy, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-7.

Legacy couldn't quite get it done against Spring Valley in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 11-6. Can the Longhorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
