Greeneview's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Stebbins Indians 15-5. The Rams not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.
Maddie Leslie spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Gabbie Burkett and Bella Sutton did most of the damage at the plate: Burkett went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Sutton scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Mya Simpson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
The win got Greeneview back to even at 1-1.
Coming up, Greeneview will square off against Urbana at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stebbins, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Archbishop Alter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
