Baseball Recap: Pikesville Wins Going Away Against Perry Hall

Pikesville won the last time they faced Perry Hall and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers blew past the Gators 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Garonzik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Ritchie Carlton was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of William Holaday, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Pikesville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Perry Hall, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pikesville will head out to take on Sparrows Point at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perry Hall, they will venture away from home to face off against Dulaney at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Gators' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
