Football Recap: Opp Piles Up the Points Against Destin + How To Watch

Opp won against Daleville last Friday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Bobcats really took it to the Destin Sharks for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-19 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 129th in Alabama, while the Sharks are ranked 457th in Florida).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Opp to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Campbell, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards Campbell has posted since back in October of 2024. Brandyn Washington was in the mix as well, providing Opp with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Opp was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Opp didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Clay Jackson and AJ Smallwood.

When it comes to explaining why Destin lost, don't look at Junior Harris. Despite the final result, he rushed for 262 yards and two scores while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Harris really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

The victory keeps Opp at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 40.0 points this season. As for Destin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Opp will host Dale County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Destin, they will venture away from home to square off against Pensacola Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Harris and Ethan Crandall.
