Softball Game Preview: Cholla Chargers vs. Maricopa Rams

The Cholla Chargers will square off against the Maricopa Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Cholla is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Tanque Verde, falling 21-1.

Cholla saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maiya Encinas, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Maricopa unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of McClintock by a score of 9-8.

Alanee Calderon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Even though they lost, Maricopa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Maricopa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
