Basketball Recap: Ligonier Valley Takes a Loss

Ligonier Valley lost against Southmoreland on January 8th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ligonier Valley Rams took a 77-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southmoreland Scotties.

Ligonier Valley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Southmoreland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Ligonier Valley will venture away from home to challenge Brownsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southmoreland, they will host Waynesburg Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southmoreland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
