            Baseball Recap: Miyamura Patriots vs. Aztec Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Miyamura won against Kirtland Central  last Tuesday with nine  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-7  victory over the Aztec Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Patriots have posted  since March 25th.

 The team  relied heavily on  Xavier Brown, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Miyamura: the team is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Nikki Torres, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-5.
The  victory made it two in a row for Miyamura and  bumps their season record up to 9-9. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 7-12 Aztec and 8-11 Kirtland Central. As for Aztec, they moved to 7-12 with that  loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
