Football Recap: Colony Titans vs. Charter Oak Chargers
Colony lost against Charter Oak back in August of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Colony Titans took an 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Charter Oak Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Chargers are ranked 95th).
Colony lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adrian Betancur, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown. What's more, Betancur also racked up eight rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August. Another back making a difference was Elijah Ybanez, who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.

A big part of Charter Oak's victory came down to the chemistry between Corin Berry and his top target Legend Lyons. Berry threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns while Lyons picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Lyons showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 55 yards. A healthy portion of Berry's aerial production (113 yards to be exact) also went to Antonio Reasby.
Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Charter Oak, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Colony has already played their next game, a 45-7 victory against Claremont on the 25th. As for Charter Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 49-21 loss against Bonita on the 25th.
