Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Morgan Sherwood and Macy Tall Lead Union to Victory + How To Watch

Union won the last time they faced Owensville and Abigail Harles did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats came out on top against the Dutchmen by a score of 3-1 on Thursday with plenty of help from Harles, who had 22 digs and one assist. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (89-85) Union actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 10-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Leading Union to victory were Macy Tall and Morgan Sherwood. Tall had 18 assists and four digs, while Sherwood had eight digs, seven kills, and three aces. What's more, Sherwood racked up 21 assists, the most she's had over her last 13 contests.

Despite the loss, Owensville had strong showings from Jenna Hoffmann, who had 15 digs and four aces, and Clara Julius, who had 16 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Schulte, who had eight digs and two aces.

With the victory, Union broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 7-19-1. As for Owensville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-15-2 record this season.

Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against St. Francis Borgia on the 13th. As for Owensville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Blair Oaks on the 13th.
