Basketball Recap: Nansemond River Skates Past Great Bridge with Ease

Nansemond River won the last time they faced Great Bridge and things went their way on Monday too. The Nansemond River Warriors really took it to the Great Bridge Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-34 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Nansemond River was led to victory by Jordin Richardson and Brittany Evans. Richardson almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals, while Evans went 8 for 16 on her way to 22 points along with six assists and five boards. Richardson's evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Makaila Miller, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Nansemond River's record now sits at 10-2. As for Great Bridge, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nansemond River won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Indian River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Great Bridge, they and Hickory will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
