Baseball Recap: Lake Oswego Lakers vs. Wooster Colts

Lake Oswego never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Wooster on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Colts.

Caden Gerritz made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gerritz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Enzo Tosoni and Carsten Lemon did most of the damage at the plate: Tosoni scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Lemon scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Lemon has posted since back in April of 2024.

Lake Oswego always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wooster only posted an OBP of .333.

Lake Oswego's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wooster, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Oswego will welcome Jesuit at 5:30 p.m. on April 1. As for Wooster, they will host South Tahoe at 4:00 p.m. on April 2.
