Softball Recap: Southlake Carroll Has No Trouble Against Keller Central

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bell, Southlake Carroll was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Keller Central Chargers. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Audrey Stroud looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Southlake Carroll got a massive performance out of Kelli Warden, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy May, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Southlake Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Southlake Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Keller Central has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Southlake Carroll and Keller Central will both be playing Byron Nelson the next time they take the field. Keller Central will head out to face Byron Nelson at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Southlake Carroll will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
