Basketball Recap: Tahoma Bears vs. Mt. Rainier Rams

The Tahoma Bears can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Mt. Rainier 84-59. Winning may never get old, but Tahoma sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tahoma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dalton Brown, who scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Adam Davis, who scored 15 points.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Rainier lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zach Luz. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with two steals. That was a full 40.7% of Mt. Rainier's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Wesley Armstrong was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.

Tahoma's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.2 points per game. As for Mt. Rainier, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tahoma's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Emerald Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Bears are ranked 11th). As for Mt. Rainier, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Eagles. Graham-Kapowsin is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
