Basketball Recap: Blanco Triumphs

If Marion wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Blanco, they should've done a better job of containing Ava Silva. Everything went the Blanco Panthers' way against the Marion Bulldogs on Friday as the Blanco Panthers made off with a 51-31 victory thanks in part to Silva, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Those five steals gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Romero, who posted 14 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played.

Blanco's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Marion, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Devine the next time they take the court. Marion will head out to face Devine at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, while Blanco will head out to face them at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.
