The Southwest EC Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest EC is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Southwest EC is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Tri-City Christian 7-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southwest EC.

Alexis Trujillo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaydence Wiewel, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Sophia Sauceda, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Southwest EC hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Canyon Hills earned a 6-1 win over Morse on Wednesday. The Rattlers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Like Southwest EC, Canyon Hills also got a great game from a two-way player: Natalye Debus. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Debus was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kassidy Ramirez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Ariah Washington was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Canyon Hills pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest EC, their record now sits at 17-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Southwest EC hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Canyon Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Southwest EC skirted past Canyon Hills 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
