Volleyball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Essex

Burlington faced Essex in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Seahorses came up short against the Hornets, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seahorses of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why Burlington lost, don't look at Harper Gutheim. Despite the final result, she had four aces.

Burlington is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Essex, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
