Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Silver Foxes vs. Chapin Huskies

Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Chapin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jefferson Silver Foxes will be playing at home against the Chapin Huskies at 7:30 p.m.

Jefferson is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Friday. They took a 27-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santa Teresa. While losing is never fun, the Silver Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1226th in Texas, while the Desert Warriors are ranked 103rd in New Mexico).

Meanwhile, Chapin can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 48-44 W over Pampa.

Jefferson better keep an eye on Autumn Blackwell. She was instrumental in Chapin's win, putting up ten points and four steals. That's the most points Blackwell has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Wise, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Chapin's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Jefferson took a serious blow against Chapin when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 51-12. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jefferson was down 40-9.
