Softball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Kimball Jaguars on Monday. The Trojans have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Cassidy Cabanig was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lincoln saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xeanna Samifua, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Kimball, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kimball beat Lincoln by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday.
