Basketball Recap: Josiah Love's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Greater Vision Academy over Combine Academy Global

Greater Vision Academy lost against Combine Academy Global back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Greater Vision Academy Lions fell to the Combine Academy Global Goats 70-66.

Greater Vision Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Love, who almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine rebounds. Love is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramael Warren, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Combine Academy Global to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ruichi Miyagi, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Miyagi a new career-high. John Stokes III was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Greater Vision Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Combine Academy Global, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Greater Vision Academy will host Carter G. Woodson at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Combine Academy Global, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-37 loss against Winston Salem Christian Silver on the 21st.
