Volleyball Recap: R.J. Reynolds Comes Up Short + How To Watch

R.J. Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Northwest Guilford Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-12, 25-9.

Sylvia Fitzgerald paced R.J. Reynolds' offense, picking up three kills. Fitzgerald got some help from Na'Leah Hairston and her five assists.

Northwest Guilford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Walker, who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Walker has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sela Gregory, who had seven digs and two aces.

R.J. Reynolds' defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Northwest Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

While R.J. Reynolds had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
