Flag Football Recap: Highland Prep West Takes a Loss

Highland Prep West fell victim to Gilbert Christian and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Knights and fell 35-0. The HORNETS just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Alexa Enman and Madelyn Willms. Enman rushed for 48 yards and one touchdown while Willms rushed for 70 yards and one score. Willms was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.

Highland Prep West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Gilbert Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Highland Prep West and Gilbert Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the HORNETS see the field they'll take on Marcos de Niza at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Gilbert Christian, their break will end when they face Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
