Baseball Recap: Marion's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Monday just wasn't the day for Marion's offense. They came up short against the Collierville Dragons on Monday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Patriots' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Marion's loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Collierville, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Coming up, Marion will welcome Wynne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wynne will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Marion surely won't give up without a fight. As for Collierville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dyer County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Collierville's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Dyer County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
