            Purcell dropped their record down to 19-12 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They took  a  6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cache Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the  6-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2024.
 Deaken Dobbins was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. That's the fewest  earned runs  he has allowed  over his last two  matchups. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  run.

 In other batting news,  Casey Billingsley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Kash Knowles, who  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles.
As for Cache, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-12. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
On Cache's side,  Jett Pineda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.
 At the plate, Cache's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Reed Gillispie, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Gillispie has posted since back in March.
While Purcell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
