Basketball Recap: Kingston Hightower's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Horse Creek Academy over Augusta Prep Day

On Saturday, the Horse Creek Academy Stallions didn't have quite enough to beat the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers and fell 58-55.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kingston Hightower, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Walls, who had 14 points.

Elijah McFadgen was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 17 en route to 25 points and five boards for Augusta Prep Day. Canye Walker was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Horse Creek Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Augusta Prep Day, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horse Creek Academy will square off against Wagener-Salley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Horse Creek Academy is facing Wagener-Salley at the right time seeing as Wagener-Salley is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Augusta Prep Day, they will take on Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Augusta Prep Day's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
