Softball Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss

Sheridan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-9 to the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lainey Mendenhall was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Amiyah Doss, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheridan will face off against Clinton Prairie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, they will challenge Indianapolis Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
