Softball Recap: Alexandria Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Alexandria had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top against the West Ouachita Chiefs by a score of 10-7. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 16-10 win the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Sarah Grace Buckels was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jas'Breille Miller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Alexandria's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for West Ouachita, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Alexandria will host Holy Savior Menard at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Ouachita, they will be taking part in a tournament against Caldwell Parish at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
