Cardinal Newman's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Dreher, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Dreher took their victory against Cardinal Newman in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. In that contest, Dreher amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
