Basketball Recap: Judah Christian Takes a Loss

Judah Christian played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders 56-18. The loss continues a trend for the Tribe in their matchups with the Conquering Riders: they've now lost six in a row.

Judah Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Masyn Miller, who posted nine points, and Ada Osaji, who earned six points. That was a full 50% of Judah Christian's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Arthur-Okaw Christian found their leader in freshman Avery Herschberger, who went 10 of 17 en route to 24 points and five steals. Herschberger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Haskins, who had 12 points.

Judah Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Judah Christian will venture away from home to square off against Urbana University at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Judah Christian is facing Urbana University at the right time seeing as Urbana University is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they will welcome Arcola at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
