Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rocky Mountain). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rifle Bears on Saturday, sneaking past 16-14. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lobos as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jamie Sawyer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with a home run, six RBI, and three runs. The last time her batting average was this high was back in October of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Mendolia, who went 1-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rocky Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're hit total in three consecutive contests.

Rocky Mountain's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Rifle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Rocky Mountain is on the road again on Saturday to play Mead at 3:00 p.m. As for Rifle, they will head out to face off against Eagle Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
