River Ridge has gone a perfect 3-0 against Countryside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Royal Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. River Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Countryside's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
River Ridge fell victim to Mitchell and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Royal Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

04/15/25 vs Land O' Lakes | 5 |
04/14/25 @ Wiregrass Ranch | 9 |
Not much got past Lilly Jackson, who gave up just seven hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Mitchell off the board. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Countryside posted their closest victory since April 16, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Clearwater Central Catholic 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
Kaitlyn Crouch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Frizzle, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kimberly Crouch, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Countryside's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for River Ridge, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
Everything went River Ridge's way against Countryside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as River Ridge made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Royal Knights repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
