            Softball Recap: Edsel Ford Thunderbirds vs. Taylor Griffins        
        
		
        
        
            Edsel Ford had lost three straight at home, but  on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-18 to make it four. They lost  14-4 to the Taylor Griffins. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Thunderbirds have suffered  against the Griffins since May 3, 2021.
As for Taylor, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-16. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 18.5 runs.
For Taylor's part,  Madelynn Waddell ?26 and  Joslyn MacKenzie ?25 were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound,  Waddell ?26   pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  MacKenzie ?25   didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. What's more,  she posted five  strikeouts, the most she's  had  over her last seven  games. At the plate,  Waddell ?26  went 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  MacKenzie ?25  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI. That  home run was  MacKenzie ?25's first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Abby Smolenski ?28 was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. Those  four  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sierra Murdoch ?25, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  run.
As of now, neither Edsel Ford nor Taylor have any future games scheduled.
