Football Recap: Bellflower Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Bellflower has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 21-6 to the Shadow Hills Knights. The game marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Bellflower still got an impressive performance from Kendyll Upshaw, who threw for 184 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 41 yards.

The critical scores for Shadow Hills came from Nathalie Briceno, Xitlalli Fregoso, and Annabelle Alvarez.

Bellflower's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Shadow Hills, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellflower will take on Merced at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Buccaneers 7.6, the Bears 9) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Shadow Hills, they will challenge Palm Springs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
