Basketball Recap: Central Mountain Skates Past Midd-West with Ease

Central Mountain was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Midd-West on Tuesday. The Central Mountain Wildcats really took it to the Midd-West Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-32 victory. The matchup marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season.

Max Verrelli went supernova for Central Mountain, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Verrelli a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Noah Wells, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points.

Central Mountain was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midd-West only posted three assists.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Ferster, who posted eight points and three steals. Nash Grover was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Central Mountain's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Midd-West, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Central Mountain has already played their next game, a 72-60 loss against Selinsgrove on the 31st. As for Midd-West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-30 defeat against Mifflinburg on the 30th.
