Softball Game Preview: Glenbard East Rams vs. Aurora East Tomcats

Glenbard East is a perfect 10-0 against Aurora East since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Tomcats at 4:45 p.m. Glenbard East's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Aurora East's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Glenbard East's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Fenton with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Claire Bolda's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lilly Carver was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Szeluga, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Aurora East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-14 to Streamwood. On the bright side, the 14- run performance marked the Tomcats' highest-scoring match to date.

Glenbard East's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Aurora East, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Glenbard East took their victory against Aurora East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Tomcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
