Softball Recap: Harding Raiders vs. McKinley Bulldogs
Harding extended their losing streak to seven on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-12. They lost 22-8 to the McKinley Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 17-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Azarriah Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Magazine, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for McKinley, the win got them back to even at 10-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On McKinley's side, they got a massive performance out of Elijahne Smith, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Der'Moni Turpin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McKinley beat Harding by a score of 18-7 later that day.
