Bishop O'Connell dropped their record down to 20-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They fell just short of St. Mary's Ryken by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Bishop O'Connell has suffered against St. Mary's Ryken since May 4, 2022.

Drew Markey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last five games.

At the plate, Bishop O'Connell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamari Chisolm, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
