Basketball Recap: Warwick Falls Despite Big Games from Dalton Joramo and Anthony Touche Jr

Warwick and New Rockford-Sheyenne squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Warwick had to settle for second. They took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Warwick's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Touche Jr, who posted 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, and Dalton Joramo, who earned 15 points and six boards. The match was Joramo's third in a row with at least 15 points.

Even though they lost, Warwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Warwick's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for New Rockford-Sheyenne, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Warwick has already played their next game, a 73-36 defeat against Midway/Minto on the 13th. As for New Rockford-Sheyenne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-46 loss against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] on the 13th.
