Basketball Recap: Turlock Takes a Loss

Turlock lost against Weston Ranch back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Turlock Bulldogs were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of the Weston Ranch Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Cougars are ranked 226th).

Leading Weston Ranch to victory were Darrion Lilly and Damien Rease. Lilly dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards, while Rease went 9 of 15 on his way to 23 points along with six assists and four steals. Lilly's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Banks, who posted eight points and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Turlock and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Weston Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Turlock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-45 win against Pleasant Valley on the 27th. As for Weston Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-38 defeat against Clovis East on the 27th.
