Baseball Recap: Solvay Extends Winning Streak to Two

Solvay took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Westhill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bearcats beat the Warriors on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. While the Bearcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The victory made it two in a row for Solvay and bumps their season record up to 4-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Westhill, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Coincidentally, Solvay and Westhill will both be playing Phoenix the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Firebirds at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bearcats will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
