Softball Game Preview: Edgar Wildcats vs. Auburndale Apaches

For the second straight game, Edgar will face off against Auburndale. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Apaches at 4:45 p.m. Edgar is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Edgar is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Auburndale on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Apaches.

Edgar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorja Knetter, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Auburndale is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Edgar, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
