Baseball Recap: Elk Lake Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Elk Lake came out on top against Blue Ridge on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Raiders an 11-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.

Braydon McMicken was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of John Heitsman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Elk Lake's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Blue Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
