Pius XI Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 22-2 to the New Berlin Eisenhower Lions. On the bright side, the two- run performance marked the Popes' highest-scoring game to date.

Pius XI Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finn Beecham, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Beecham has brought in this season.

Pius XI Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Pius XI Catholic will face off against Brookfield Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.8 runs per game on average), something the Popes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they will square off against Greenfield at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
