Basketball Game Preview: Catholic Crusaders vs. Neumann-Goretti Saints

Having just played yesterday, the Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Neumann-Goretti Saints at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Collegiate 71-27. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Cougars are ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Neumann-Goretti's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 66-48 bruising from Clovis West.

Catholic pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Neumann-Goretti, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
