Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Little Miami Panthers
The West Clermont Wolves lost against the Little Miami Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. West Clermont fell to Little Miami 51-47. While losing is never fun, West Clermont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while Little Miami is ranked 195th).
Despite the loss, West Clermont saw an underclassman step up: Carson Duke scored 18 points along with five steals. Duke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Cameron Strause was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, West Clermont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
West Clermont's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. As for Little Miami, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Clermont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Richmond at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. New Richmond is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Little Miami, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loveland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
